These terms govern your use of PencilCard products — Pinodock and PinoDrive. We've written them to be clear, not to protect us from you.

The Short Version

Use the apps for their intended purpose. The production launch is genuinely free. Pro is waitlist-only until the paid billing and entitlement flow is production-ready. We will never sell your data, lock you out without warning, or change these terms in ways that harm you without notice.

Acceptance of terms

By installing or using any PencilCard application — including the Pinodock Chrome extension, the PinoDrive Chrome extension, or the optional PinoDrive local agent — you agree to these Terms of Service.

If you do not agree, please uninstall the application and discontinue use. These terms apply to Free users now and will apply to Pro users once paid Pro is released.

Effective date: May 2026

License

PencilCard grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use PencilCard applications for your own personal or professional productivity. This license does not include:

  • Reselling, sublicensing, or distributing the applications
  • Reverse engineering, decompiling, or extracting source code
  • Creating derivative works or competing products
  • Removing or altering any proprietary notices

The PinoDrive local agent binary is provided as-is. You may install it on machines you own or control.

Free & Pro tiers

All PencilCard apps offer a Free tier that is genuinely useful and will remain free. Pro is currently a waitlist and does not accept payment. Current production tiers:

Planned power features across Pinodock and PinoDrive. Final price and feature set will be published before checkout opens.

We reserve the right to adjust what features are included in each tier with reasonable notice. We will never move a feature from Free to paid-only without at least 30 days' notice.

Billing & refunds

There is no paid PencilCard Pro subscription in the current production release. The Pro page is a waitlist/interest page and does not collect payment.

When paid Pro launches, subscriptions will be managed through Stripe, renewal/cancellation terms will be shown before checkout, and this section will be updated before any payment is accepted.

Refund policy: Not applicable while Pro is waitlist-only. A clear refund policy will be published before paid checkout opens.

Prohibited use

You agree not to use PencilCard applications to:

  • Delete, move, or modify files you do not own or have permission to access
  • Automate bulk file operations across shared or networked systems without authorisation
  • Circumvent, bypass, or tamper with any future Pro licence verification system
  • Use the local agent as a general-purpose HTTP proxy or file server for third parties
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation

Disclaimer of warranties

PencilCard applications are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We make no warranty that the applications will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components.

You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on information shown in the applications — including decisions to delete, move, or archive files. Always verify before permanently deleting data. The trash/recycle bin is your last safety net.

The PinoDrive local agent operates entirely on your machine. PencilCard has no visibility into what files exist on your system and accepts no liability for data loss resulting from actions taken within the application.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PencilCard and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption.

In no event shall PencilCard's total liability to you for any claims arising out of these terms or your use of the applications exceed $10 USD while the apps are free-only. When paid Pro launches, this section will be updated before checkout opens.

Termination

You may stop using PencilCard applications at any time by uninstalling them. There is no active paid subscription to cancel in the current production release.

When paid Pro launches, subscription cancellation and access terms will be published before checkout opens. We may suspend access if you breach these terms or attempt to circumvent future licence verification.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes — particularly to billing, refund policy, or your rights — we will notify you via the in-app Settings panel and update this page with a new effective date.

Continued use of the applications after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
